Hello my friends,
We had a lot of activity in our back yard yesterday.  I was sitting in the back kitchen window and was watching the birds, when all of a sudden, the crows in the back yard starting squacking very loud.  Mommy came to see what was happening.
We both saw a family of raccoons, fat papa and mama, and their children.  Papa racoon had something in his mouth.
He finally dropped it, and it was a dead crow.  This made Mommy sad to see.
When the raccoons went into the wooded area, all the crows in the trees were gathering over the dead crow.  Mommy thinks they were mourning for their friend.
Soon, the raccoons came back, and it got very loud again.  Of course, mews was watching everything from my window, and making my chattering noise.  There was so much excitement.
Papa raccoon picked up the crow again, but then he dropped it, the whole family of raccoons climbed up the big cedar tree in our backyard.  The branches were shaking.
Mommy wanted to get the crow so she could bury him, but she wanted to wait, so the crows could mourn their friend.
Eventually all the excitement ended.  The raccoons were gone and the crows were quiet again.
Later last night, Mommy went out and buried the crow.  She said a prayer to Saint Francis.  All living creatures deserve a blessing when it's there time to leave this world.
Today, Mommy has seen some crows flying over the area.  No sign of the raccoons.
Yes, watching out of my window each day, there is always someting to see.

Oh, dear Daisy, your day was really impressive. I'm very sorry for the crows. Your mommy is a wonderful person. She loves animals. She did the right thing to bury the crow. Beautiful day for you and your Mommy, dear Daisy

Never thought a racoon might put up with such a big bird like a crow. Maybe he just picked up an already dead one?

Daisy, you have a mother in gold, of course all animals are entitled to have a tombre worthy of the name even a bird ♥. You have a lot of animation to see through the window .
