Earl Grey has allowed me to watch him through the glass door. I took this video of him. He seems in a good condition and is quite a big and impressive cat like Sidney was. Unlike Sidney he hasn't shown any signs of aggression. Always moves very slowly, except that time when Aggie barked at him. Aggie hasn't noticed him on his recent visits. I don't think she would stay calm if she did notice him. Tilde was in the conservatory with him today, but hiding. Tondo was watching through the door with me.

He is a lovely boy & in very good condition. Be nice if you could tame him, but would Aggie & the cats accept him. He might be getting food elsewhere too. xx

I am sure he is getting food elsewhere too, Trish. He may not be a complete stray either. I suspect he has an owner, but is a neglected cat. It is common in this country for cats to be locked out of the house at night and while the owner is at work or even on vacation. These cats get a couple of hours indoors if they are lucky. Often they have to fend for themselves for prolonged periods of time.

Aggie would never accept Earl Grey, but I think Tondo and Tilde would. I don't intend to let him into the house for the foreseeable future, even if he should become more tame.

Yes, he is scared of people.

Lovely cat. And he almost feels like at home.

He is very shy, Biruta. I feel he wants to stay here, but is still afraid.

this made me smile as he feels quite at home at your place..He can come and go as he pleases, eat, and maybe one day he will even take a nap..The fact that your country is not as cold in winter, maybe earl grey would want to stay in your conservatory if ever he has nowhere else to go...I wish canada was like that because I woulden t have to worry as much for my ferals....thanks for sharing

Fortunately England is quite mild all the year round, especially in the south. Cats can live quite safely outside. There even are plenty of mice to catch and many people will feed the cats. The strays tend to be flea bitten and full of worms, but they can survive well enough. Earl Grey looks good, but he is unneutered and rather too streetwise for a pet.

I think it's irresponsible to create a cat with access to the streets. He can die in many ways. But I'm glad to see this cat in your house. I wish I had such a visitor, elegant and handsome.

It's the norm here, Beth. The vast majority of domestic cats go outside. Very many are locked out and have no means of entering the house for much of the day and night. Unfortunately many die in road traffic accidents. We live in a quiet road and my cats don't roam, so they are safe. In fact keeping cats exclusively indoors is considered a cruelty here even by vets. I personally think that it depends on the breed. Some cats can live exclusively indoors and others cannot.

But i know you can attract him to stay with you,and soon he wont be scared of you,if you start giving food and pat him

i don't think so arline. he has been coming here for a couple of years and is still very shy. that makes me think that he is feral.

Handsome and seems to be well mannered. For an unneutered cat - very good manners, indeed. The cats who come here and steal Ture's food (mostly domestics belonging to neighbours but kept outdoors during the day and mostly also unneutered) just eat and then spray around - horrible. Don't know what to do, cannot spray anything anti-cat for Ture spends most of his time on the terrace. Is there any chance that Tilde would befriend Earl Gray?

I think my cats are reasonably friendly with him. Tilde is a dreadful coward and runs away pretty quick if another cat appears, so she is being quite brave staying in the same room with Earl Grey.

Wonder why Aggie don't like Earl Grey , when she is use to having Tilde and Tondo around her all the time xxx

I think it's quite normal for dogs to like their own family cats and yet hate strange ones, Anne.

He looks so dignified

Marta is right, it is more unusual for cats to be kept indoors. Marmite has her own door and goes out when she likes but she doesn’t go far, next door to Fidel!

Good that he was able to eat even just a little. He moves in slow mo.
Yes, Roxanne, he always moves like that.

he does sound a bit feral marta but he knows you would never hurt him and trusts you to a point
