I went out late today and all the big shops were already closed. There was only one small grocer open, you know the 24/7 kind of shop. I picked up 2 bananas and went to the till. The shopkeeper said, you can have 3 bananas for a pound. It seemed rather expensive, but I didn't quibble about the price. I said, I would have just the 2. It's hot and 3 bananas would go off. No point in buying 3. The shopkeeper agreed and charged me 25 pence for the 2 bananas.

There are 100 pence to 1 pound, so for a pound I should get 8 bananas at that price. Have you seen any strange special offers in the shops lately?

Its obvious the shopkeeper doesen t know how to count but in this case, you benefited. 25 pence for 2 when it's 3 for 1 pound.....getting 8 bananas for 1 pound is a mistake on his part but a great deal for the customer................. Have not seen odd prices anywhere but found this sign
I don t care how much of a deal these pooptarts are, Im not buying any...no thanks I'll pass on the pooptarts

Perhaps the third banana had to be 3 times bigger than the two first. But anyway I would feel confused.

Strange, I think he made a grave mistake and sold those 2 bands too cheap. I don't like to count with cent (those crazy endings 0.89 0r 0,93 - never can't add it correctly in the hurry) but in general when they tell me I can have 3 of something for 2 Euro, when I take only 2 I pay around 2.80: buying per piece comes out about 15 or more centimes more expensive than the whole lot. I usually don't pay attention to special offers - there is always something fishy about them, like the ham slices whose date expires the same day but there are 8 slices - impossible to eat in one day.

What on earth is a pooptart, Suzanne?

The 25 pence for 2 bananas is about right. I suspect the shopkeeper wanted to overcharge me by implying that 3 bananas for a pound was a good offer.

its suppose to be poptarts marta, but the sign made a spelling error..thats why I will never buy poop tarts..hehe........... shopkeepers are not always right so you mightwant to count your change when this guy is at the cash register

I haven't seen any strange offers, but sure do have to watch when things are on sell with coupons. It will say so and so for a box of cereal, but the coupon is for a so many oz box. Of course, then the boxes in the store aren't that amount and they don't honor the coupon. Tricky tricky tricky.

Today , I went shopping , The offer was 2 packets of muffins for $ 6 , but if you buy one packet it is only $2-50 , so who would buy 2 at $6 when you can get 2 for $5 , I told the lady at the shop , She went and changed the ticket xxx

Anne, I sometimes see offers like that in our supermarket too.

I have never been to a store open 24 hours a day. So I have no idea of the prices at home.
