If you remember, we had a visiting fox, who came to eat in the conservatory. Then the fox saw me close up and stopped coming for a while.

Recently our untidy neighbour has been leaving takeaway pizza boxes and other leftovers outside in just black bags. Of course the foxes ripped up the bags and dined on the garbage. Now the foxes are again snooping around looking for food.

This morning I noticed a fox in the conservatory. I don't know if it was the same fox as before, I only saw him briefly. I tried to take a photo, but he quickly disappeared through the hole in the fence. I just caught his tail.

I hope the foxes are not going to be too much of a nuisance. The weather is quite hot about 35 degrees Celsius and I have been leaving the windows and doors open. The conservatory gets baking hot if it is kept closed up. I guess no more food left out for the cats again.

No Foxes in Tasmania either. Pity they are Vermin. They are quite pretty. That neighbour should be ordered to clean up his act. Then the wild life would not be attracted. He would be, if he lived here. The Fox probably wouldn't come into your house Marta, unless it can smell food.

The cats and the foxes don't seem bothered about each other. I think it would be another story if they were hungry. Sometimes Tondo chases after a fox passing through the garden. It gives me palpitations, but the foxes just ignore him.

When the weather gets hot and dry, and food gets more scare, the wild animals come into more residential areas looking for food. Naughty neighbor for leaving trash out for the foxes to find food. Hope it won't become a problem for you and your cats.

I think it's bad that foxes are visiting your backyard, dear friend. They can be dangerous, can also carry a variety of diseases. Protect yourself. It's bad that it's so hot with you. We are also approaching a heat wave.

Hope your cats will be safe from them. We never have foxes here, so I'm not familiar with them.

Well, you are not the only one with a problem, Marta. Remember the badger with a baby I related some weeks ago? Looks like she is back. Yesterday, I went into the garden to hang out washed covers and my husband - who came also out, jumped a mile. We have 5 big boxes with wild white strawberries. (we have planted 2 little plants 3 years ago - now we had desserts for several days). They were all tore up and partially destroyed. First, we tried to replant what was left, then my husband had a look at the security camera - well, there was a badger around them and no mistake. And we hopped, she'd go away for good after the dogs have maltreated her baby. My husband spent half a day trying to construct metal cages for the remaining wild strawberries. We know, that badgers dig holes in the yard, but it never occurred to us, they might be after our plants and fruit.

Aussie friends and Roxanne - I suppose that Marta's foxes should not be very dangerous for her kitties health wise - the country being an island and every animal coming should have obligatory vaccines. Birds and bats are worse, for they don't need a passport to come over and might carry diseases. Our continental foxes (at least in the West) are safe - most of them a vaccinated. But in time of food problems, foxes are known to kill cats- therefore it is better to keep them away from living areas. Lucky, there are no wild living bears - I am sure, they'd love to visit your neighbour, Marta.

The foxes here carry mainly mange. It's a highly infectious disease. I don't think they have rabies.

Oh Marta foxes can be a real pain. Hopefully they move off soon
