When our girl dog Bonny was in her first heat just before she was due to be neutered, the neighbourhood dogs would congregate by our gate. I would charge at them and one day I actually jumped on the back of a dog and rode down the road on the hapless dog like a rodeo rider. The dogs were just local pets and not some wild strays, which is just as well, otherwise I would have come to a bad end.
I got knocked down by a speeding car in our road. I ran off and was missing for 3 days. I was taken to a vet and recovered from my injuries. Unfortunately, I had severe gingivitis, which in those days was treated with antibiotics and steroids. There were no dental procedures then. After a couple of years of this my heart gave out. I passed away at home while everyone was at work or school. The children gave me a proper burial in the garden under an apple tree.
I am special because... big, fluffy and beautiful
